Eliud Okumu Ongowo

Lecturer at Egerton University in the Department of Sociology, Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences. Mr. Ongowo holds a Master of Arts in Sociology (Community Development and Project Management) and pursuing a PhD in Sociology with a bias on Social Policy.

Mr. Ongowo is a Lecturer at Egerton University in the Department of Sociology, Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences. Mr. Ongowo holds a Master of Arts in Sociology (Community Development and Project Management) and pursuing a PhD in Sociology with a bias on Social Policy.
Mr Ongowo has over 10 years’ progressive responsibility and experience in designing, coordinating and implementing Community/Rural Development, Orphans and Vulnerable Children, Peace Building and Conflict Resolution, Child Protections, training on Human Rights programs and Policy Analysis. Mr. Ongowo has passion for Action Research, Policy Development and Analysis. In addition, he has over 6 years’ experience at the university conducting mixed research, teaching and examining students in Sociology and Public Policy. Form various research assigments, Mr. Ongowo has published journal articles in various refereed journals.
Mr. Ongowo, previously worked for Centre for Conflict Resolution-Kenya and Catholic Relief Services where he implemented peace building projects and provided technical assistance to grantees to Local Implementing organizations. During this period, Mr. Ongowo was involved in action research that led to the development of policy briefs and also informed project implementation.
Mr. Eliud Okumu Ongowo is the chairman, NETI Board of Trustees.

Wycliff Nyamao

Project Coordinator – Pesticide Advocacy, Kenya Organic Agriculture Network (KOAN). Nyamao is a PhD student at Laikipia University, Kenya, where he is working on the assessment of the impacts of the mangrove conservation strategies on the livelihoods of the Tudor Creek communities in Mombasa Kenya.

Nyamao is a PhD student at Laikipia University, Kenya, where he is working on the assessment of the impacts of the mangrove conservation strategies on the livelihoods of the Tudor Creek communities in Mombasa Kenya. Wycliff Nyamao has a Master of Science Degree in Environmental Science and a Bachelor of Science Degree in Natural Resources Management. While in his master’s studies, Nyamao worked on a Western Indian Ocean Marine Science Association-funded project and the Kenya Marine and Fisheries Research Institute. It focused on the impacts of climate change on the marine ecosystems and the adjacent communities and aspects of carbon emissions from mangrove degradation.
Nyamao is a research scientist with over Ten (10) years of diverse and rich experience in resource conservation, community empowerment, and resource economics, gained in various research and practicing capacities and in different organizations both in government and non-governmental organizations, and profit-oriented environment; notably, Rural Focus Limited, Universities and Development Impact Consulting, Kenya Organic Agriculture Network. Nyamao’s experience ranges from statistics, baseline surveys, feasibility studies, resources mapping, training, funding raising and resources mobilization, environmental and social impact assessments, and resource economics.
As a graduate fellow, Nyamao worked with different organizations as a research scientist on various community projects (water, sanitation, women empowerment, resource conservation) touching on livelihood improvement and increment of resilience in various parts of the country. In his recent assignment, Nyamao worked for the European Union and National Legal Aid Service a state Agency Under the Office of Attorney General and Department of Justice, Kenya on mapping of legal aid providers that are active, and potentially able to directly or indirectly support the provision of legal aid services to poor, vulnerable and marginalized Kenyans.
Nyamao has served as a Lecturer (part-time) for different universities (Egerton University, Kisii University, Chuka University, and Tharaka University) where he lectured and conducted practicals on Resource Planning and Management, Environmental Impact Assessment and Audit, Management and Conservation of Arid and Semi-arid Lands, Land Use and Classification, Research and general students’ administration. Nyamao has been a trainer where he has successfully developed training materials, influenced decision-making by the trained individuals, and facilitated the implementation of projects in environmentally safe, economically feasible, and socially acceptable ways. Carried out needs assessment and training County Environmental Committees on Environmental safeguards and social protection for projects under the County Integrated Development program funded by the World Bank while working with Kenya School of Government (KSG).
Additionally, Nyamao was a Mentoring Research Program Fellow with the International Support Network for African Development (ISNAD) working on Environmental Sustainability in Africa. Currently, Nyamao is a member of the African Forest Forum (AFF). Recently (2018-2020), Nyamao was involved in the implementation of the Global Environmental Facility (GEF) through the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) under the Small Grants Programme (SGP) projects within Baringo County. The project was supported by Kenya Organic Agriculture Network (KOAN) as a strategic partner and the programme focused on increment of the community resilience and improvement of communities’ livelihoods. Previously, Nyamao participated in conservation activities at Mau Forest under the African Wildlife Foundation (AWF) under the Mau Conservation Program. He was also a team lead in fieldwork in Kwale District mandated to collect data for the development of the Mangroves Management Master Plan having attended the 1st mangrove training course on mangroves conservation as climate change mitigating agents organized by United Nations University and other partners. In his career life, Nyamao participated in UNICEF projects on water resources surveys, which included community mobilization, and training on projects and funding, project design, coverage, project implementation, and management in different parts of Kenya.
In 2018, Nyamao was involved in research on the encroachment and destruction of the riparian zones in a consultancy that was from the National Land Commission. Nyamao was also involved in research on the pesticides used in the management of Fall Army Worm (FAW), in Kenya by Kenya Agricultural and Livestock Research Organization (KALRO). As a young professional, Nyamao is a registered Environmental and Social Impact Assessment (ESIA) expert with the Environmental Institute of Kenya (EIK) and National Environment Management Authority (NEMA), where he has managed to handle many impacts assessment projects within private and institutions. Nyamao can deliver exceptional expertise within the environmental perspective to generate a consummate product allied with decisive liability and reliability enabling the development and implementation of policies, plans, programs, and projects within the legislative framework and the achievement of the set goals and objectives in an environmentally sound and socially acceptable manner.

Ogeto Patrick Michael

Trained as a community development expert before joining teaching profession and later back to the community as a researcher and a social-economic investment expert

Ogeto was trained as a community development expert before joining teaching profession and later back to the community as a researcher and a social-economic investment expert.
He is currently working as a Programs Coordinator for PACHA Research Centre. He also serves as the Executive Secretary for Rent2Own Initiative Kenya which he co-founded. Since its inception, Rent2Own Kenya has seen more hundreds of people access affordable housing and land ownership in Nakuru.
He has published several research papers presented in various national and international conferences. Ogeto believes in socio-economic empowerment of low and medium economic masses. He is a strong advocate of socio-economic transformation and a defender of human rights.

Colonel(Rtd) Raymond K Cheruiyot ’ndc’(K) ’ensp’(RSA) ’psc’(K)

Raymond has vast experience in leadership and management having served in the
Kenya Defence Forces in various capacities through the ranks until his retirement in the
rank of a colonel.

Raymond K Cheruiyot is a retired Kenya Defence Forces Officer having served in various
positions of Staff, Command, Leadership and management both within the country and out in
two United Nations Peace Keeping Missions until his retirement in the rank of a Colonel in
October 2008. After the military service, Raymond had served in various schools and colleges as
member of the Board of Management. He is currently the Chairman of the Board of
Management for St Ann Montessori Teachers College , Nakuru. He also served as the Board
member and Vice Chairman of Nakuru Rural Water and Sanitation Services Company Ltd from
October 2010 to August 2012. Raymond has served as a Board member of the Nakuru
Municipal and city Board, Raymond is a Rotarian and Director New Generations at Rotary Club
of Nakuru and Board of Trustee with Nakuru Endelevu Trust Iniative(NETI).
Raymond has been trained in various security professional and managerial courses in Kenya,
Pakistan, United States of America (USA), Israel and Republic of South Africa.
He graduated in National Defence College (NDC), Kenya in 2005 where he led his class in
research and presentation of the final paper on “Kenya’s Grand Strategy (Vision 2030)”. He is
also a 2002 graduate of the South African National Defence College (SANDC) having studied
Executive National Security Program (ENSP). He holds a Diploma in International Relations
Studies from University of Nairobi.

Frederick Owako is an experienced and energetic teacher with the knowledge, skills and understanding of a range of teaching, learning, assessment and behavior management strategies needed to make a positive impact on the progress of students.

Frederick Owako is an experienced and energetic teacher with the knowledge, skills and understanding of a range of teaching, learning, assessment and behavior management strategies needed to make a positive impact on the progress of students. He is open-minded with the ability to motivate and inspire others to succeed; possessing a long track record of being able to maintain good order and discipline among all the students, safeguarding their health and safety both when they are authorized to be on the school premises and when they are engaged in authorized school activities elsewhere.
Frederick has been a principal and deputy principal in various schools in Nakuru and Baringo counties.
Frederick is a member of the Nakuru District Peace Committee, the National Vice Chairman of the Association of People Living with Disabilities in Kenya (APDK) and a member of the Board of the Trustees of the Nakuru Endelevu Trust Initiative ( NETI).

Linda Kageha Mugatsia

Linda represents the Private sector in the County Agricultural Sector Steering Committee (CASSCOM) Nakuru, a coordinating organ for the agricultural sector with an aim to improve service delivery to the target groups and for the value chain actors to benefit from their own efforts as a committee member

Linda Kageha Mugatsia is a Kenyan citizen and a holder of a Bachelor’s degree in Business management and Information Technology from Kabarak University, currently pursuing her Masters in Strategic Management at Kenyatta University.
She is the County Executive Officer of The Kenya National Chamber of Commerce and Industry Nakuru Chapter a NON-PROFIT autonomous, private sector institution and membership-based organization that protects, promotes and develops the interests of the business community, to ensure they operate within a conducive environment and they remain competitive. She has proven skills in Management, Lobbying and Advocacy, Mediation, Leadership and Governance that enable her handle challenging and demanding tasks.
Linda is currently serving as a Board of Trustee at the Nakuru Endelevu Trust Initiative (NETI) a local development organization that fosters community owned, community led and community managed development.
Linda represents the Private sector in the County Agricultural Sector Steering Committee (CASSCOM) Nakuru, a coordinating organ for the agricultural sector with an aim to improve service delivery to the target groups and for the value chain actors to benefit from their own efforts as a committee member. At the Agricultural Society of Kenya (ASK) Central Rift region, she is a show organizing committee member.
Linda is a Young Women Mediation Ambassador Kenya having been on the forefront championing matters of peace and currently a member of the Nakuru County Action Plan Secretariat heading the Economic pillar in Prevention of Counter Violence Extremism (PCVE).

Dr. Faith Wakonyo Muniale

Dr. Faith Wakonyo Muniale is a natural resources management and rural livelihoods
development expert with 17 years of experience. She worked in collaborative development and
research projects, and as a consultant in project development, implementation, monitoring and evaluation.

Her experience spans in different sectors including agriculture, water, natural resources, livelihoods and climate adaptation in different countries in Africa.
Faith has previously worked for ERMIS Africa and Centre for Development Services. She has also consulted for local and international organizations and currently works for Tropical Biology Association. Faith was recently approved by Social Audit Network as a verifier for gender
empowerment programmes. She is passionate about empowering civil society organizations and community groups. Faith Muniale holds a PhD in Environmental Science from Masinde Muliro University of Science and Technology in addition to a variety of professional qualifications.
