The NETI member program is dedicated to addressing various critical areas that impact Nakuru County. These areas include #Justice and Good Governance, Environment & Climate Change, Health, Education, Gender Inclusion, Children’s Rights, Agriculture, Water & Sanitation, Peace & Security, Population Dynamics, Capacity Development, Counselling, Small Microenterprise Development, and Disability, among other pressing issues.
During the period of April to August 2022, NETI actively engaged the citizens of Nakuru through a series of activities conducted at the ward and Sub-County levels. The objective of these engagements was to identify the concerns and development priorities of the local population. The insights gathered from these interactions served as a crucial foundation for the formulation of the NETI strategic plan for the years 2022-2027.
The strategic plan underwent rigorous validation processes to ensure its effectiveness and relevance. On 4th April 2023, the plan was officially launched in a momentous event graced by esteemed guests. Mr. David Gosney, the USAID Kenya Missions Country Director for Kenya, presided over the ceremony, accompanied by his deputy, Mr. Bert Ubamadu, and Ms. Kimberly Ludwig, the USAID Director of the Office of Democratic Governance Peace and Security.
The event was further graced by the presence of Mr. Bernard Kitur, the representative of the County Government of Nakuru, and various partners, including Aga Khan Foundation through the YETU program, represented by Irine Githinji and her team.
